RE: Large scale arf piper cub
As a Trainer??????
We'll i'll stick my neck out there and say any plane with light wing loading and genorous wing area, could be used as a trainer. However, I learned on a taildragger and had no problems. Cubs can be tricky for the novis, because they require a lot of rudder to keep them tracking straight down the runway. Then the combination of extremely lightly loaded wings, and you basically got a kite, so this is where a more experience pilot would be the correct fit for a Cub. It would be a shame to trash such a classic airplane. However our planes our just made of wood and glue and can always be repaired!
