I'm adding my two cents worth after reading the thread for awhile, - Flight simulator, then take it from there. I have trained a few that actually found it wasn't for them. A flight sim would be not only a good learning tool, (very cost effective) but a way of finding out if it is really something he (and/or you) want to do.
