YES most definitely it will help, a friend of mine just bought him a p51 trainer and it come's with a cheeeeeep lol flight sim, but he did not have a comp. to use it, so he gave it to me and since we both just started to learn to fly we wasn't that good at it, but after using the cheeeeeeeep lol sim. that came with his p51 trainer for just 2 week's I learned to take off and land a whole lot better in just a short time, the thing is witch one to get, the G3 is high $$$ and you have to have a high $$$ video card and p/c to run it, I just bought the simblaster it should be here soon will let you how it go's....
