In this link (and on my PT-40) there is an elongated front fin that I find very difficult to cover with the rest of the fin because of the sharp bend. But in your pic of the PT-40 above, ECM, the fin of your airplane is not elongated.

Is it my understanding (because you did it) that the elongated fin can be cut shorter to make it easier to cover without affecting its flight or control? Can that elimination of the longer fin front be done to all trainers or was your plane that way when you got it?
