Back again... todays testing was done with a G-23 carb adapter, one of the 11mm Walbros I got from Scott Ellingson and the Wacker muffler. I had the G-23 carb adapter laying around and it perfectly with just a tiny bit of port matching (or Moto-tooling, whatever you want to call it

) I wanted to keep the stock adapter unmodified so I could go back and do some more testing with the stock intake. The Bambula 16x8, Pro Zinger 16x8, and APC 16x8 all turned right around 7860rpm. Rats, I was wanting to see over 8000 so I tried a MA 16x6,8100rpm and an APC 17x6 turned 8010rpm. Nice.... but again, I was expecting a little bit more. OK, it's time to get serious. Out comes the degree wheel so I can find out exactly what is going on. Stock intake duration is 127*, that's not too bad. But the stock exhaust duration is a horsepower squashing 122*. Ugh... got to fix that. Milled the exhaust port, moto-tooled the intake. Now the intake is at 134* and the exhaust is at 153*. Went ahead and removed some of the fins on the back of the cylinder while I was at it. With Christmas and all I don't know yet if I'll get the chance to run it tomorrow or not.
Anyhow
Merry Christmas everybody
