Default RE: E-FLIGHT BLADE CP

New member and new Blade CP owner with what looks like an extended learning curve after a few minutes with my new helicopter. I got it today and spent some time floating it across the living room floor, (it was pretty windy today so I didn't want to chance taking it outside). What I found is that even with the stock set-up, I don't have nearly enough room inside my home to fly this thing without risk of injury. I also noticed that it wants to roll onto it's side even when it's still on the skids, so I will certainly need the training gear. The manual is really vague if you are a beginner, as it doesn't even give you a basic diagram of the controller or thorough explanation of the flight characteristics of the model. I guess this is to be expected of an aircraft that's meant for intermediate to advanced flyers, but no one mentioned that tid-bit when we bought it at our local hobby shop, (along with the bladerunner II that I bought for my 9 year old).

My question is, am I going to be able to learn to fly this helicopter on my own without destroying it? And if there are any hints to minimizing the damage I do inflict on it, I would surely be appreciative of any insight. Since I am not only new to helicopters, but to the world of RC models in general, I am sure I will find a wealth of information as I begin my "training", but thanks in advance for any help.
