Also, I nicked a blade end very lightly this morning against a car tire. Blades had almost stopped spinning and the only damage I see is the monokote is spit open in a couple of places in the last 1/2 inch of the blade. Doesn't appear to be any damage to the wood underneath. Not having any model tools, what would be the best way to repair this? I had a spare set of blades, which are on there now.

Use some scotch tape and tape over the covering so no air can get under it. Use just enough to get the job done and keep it as smooth as possible. I have done this and the tape held through several flights. Good luck!
