I think that I can speak for everyone that has flown a blade to this date, if you have never learned to fly a heli before flying the blade you need some sort of help!!! That being said your help can be, TRAINING GEAR, SIMULATOR, ANOTHER PERSON THAT HAS FLOWN A HELI BEFORE!!! How do I know this you ask? I have never flown a heli before a month ago, I have flown airplanes for 18 years. I had flown on the G2 simulator for a years time on and off. I finally got my wife to let me have a heli, and what do i get, the worst possible heli to learn on that one can buy! Micro heli's are very unstable and hard to learn on, but it can be done! At this time I have about 30 flights on mine and am just learning to slow forward flight. I have had one bad crash where i have had to replace that main shaft and blades, but that is it. What I am trying to say is that if you go slow and use that right learning tools you should have a great time with this heli!!!! I must say that with all of the help here on this site you have a weath of knowledge to help you along the way. I would suggest that you read all of the forums and take to heart that if you try to forward fly this thing right off the bat you will have a 1000 doller ship if you have no previous training. hope this helps some and good luck, I love this thing but you have to go slow in order to love it in one piece.
TRAINING GEAR IS A MUST FOR ANY BEGINNER! I have been flying mine for about 3 months now, with no prior heli exp. It is a wild ride at first but as you learn to control the ride it gets much better. Just remember to take it one step at a time, don't try to something that you do not think that you can do. I can now hover on a dime, good at forward flight, circuit, figure 8, and am starting nose in at about 25 feet up. Give you time to corect or bail out before you crash. This thing is awsome though, it can get expensive when you try to fly beyond you ability.
That being said if I learned to fly this thing anyone can, just hang with it and upgrade to a dd tail motor from gws it will make this heli so much more predictable for a beginner to learn on and more responsive to. Also take the time to read this forum from page 1 no matter how long it takes it will be very valuable to you, and check out bdavision's assembly page it will definetly help in you time of need after a crash when repairing. I believe lipo's are better to learn on because you get more time to fly and less time to charge.
I think I have replaced every piece on this thing but the 4 in 1 at least once...lol... Blades about 15 times including 2 sets of carbon blade's which are a good investment also...
