Default RE: U-Can-Do 3d 46?

Jim Tucker,

I'm now on my fourth Twist (and have ordered a fifth) and my FIRST Can Do .46--I have a Can Do .60, too. NEITHER of those birds BEGINS to compare with the Twist, in my estimation, for pure acrobatics and 3D challenges. The Twist is a joy to fly. The Can Dos have their own grace, but not the dynamics of the Twist in my estimation. On low rates, the Twists could be a second plane for anyone. On high rates they challenge the best fliers to make that bird do what it can. The Can Dos are very flyable, easy to control, predictable, and float forever on landing. All plusses. But the Can Do is also heavier (better in high winds than the Twist) and often sluggish in the aerobatics. An experienced flier can handle the Twist EASILY in winds up to 25 kts, my opinion. I have.

At 99 bucks, there's not a better buy on the market than the Twist. The Can Dos, on the other hand, are NOT cheap and require special and costly hardware on board--if you follow specifications. I didn't, using the Futaba S3004 servos, standard. And in my experience Hangar 9 produces a consistently better ARF than Great Planes. Hangar 9 spoiled me--and I almost returned the UCD ARF to GP because of production problems.

But more than that, the Can Dos are simply not the challenge of the Twist. Good birds, for sure, but not the same.

I believe you've been to the RCUniverse forum on the Twist. If not, search Hangar 9 Twist and it ought to come up. Long thread.

Fly well.

Jack
