Go with the Flyzone Classic Cruiser with a new wing. It is cheap, strong, easy to hand launch and flies well. It will give you a good feel for what a small plane flies like with an .010. When you wear the plane out, you should be able to judge for yourself what to put it into next.

Here's a picture of the wing I did for the Swarm Jr. (Same as the Classic Cruiser). I flew mine at 8oz with 8 cell electric. It would be much lighter with an .010.
