My rule of thumb...

If it looks like there is ANY chance of the blades cracking or coming apart in flight, they WILL do so and cost you more than a new heli in damage.

So if the damage looks very minimal, such as a nick or two, take the blades out, light sand off any ridges that are above or below the blade foil planes, then rebalance.

If there are cracks which run deeper, replace the blade ASAP.
