Geeze Isis...........what's with the attitude. With advice given the way you just did, I'd quit thinking about this hobby and take up golf or bowling. None of the newbies really know what questions to ask or at least very few and it really does hurt when you wreck your first "baby" no matter what it might have been. And all new participants in this hobby suffer from the getting ahead or yourself syndrome. As a modeler of over 30 years (this time), I can say that the kind of attitude you put forth here is what discouraged me in the first place and made me really appreciate the instructor that took my son and I under his wings and saw us through the learning process. I'm still learning and am grateful to those that can guide me through new facits of this hobby.

Please lighten up a bit.......none of the comments that the new-comers make really affects you anyway.
