Sorry to break this news to you, but we were thinking before you shared your "enlightened" vision with us. Other than providing an example of how NOT to talk to beginners, I can't see that you have provided any new information. If your drill sergeant approach works with some, more power to you. The lead instructor at our club flew (and instructed I believe) fighters in the airforce. If anyone COULD have an approach like yours, it would be him. He's got the experience to justify it. However, he's not that way at all, thank god. Instead, he's very soft spoken, patient, and helpful. It only takes a couple minutes with him to realize that he knows his stuff and is worth listening to.

Oh, by the way, about your vision of a place to talk about sharing stories, "a crash and burn forum", there is one already. I "THINK" you might want to take another look around.
