RE: MAKING TRAINING GEAR?
Here's my training gear. I use it on my blade CP and find it works better than the original.
Unfortunately, I didn't have access to Carbon rods. However, you can purchase those reflector poles they use to limit driveways in the winter, the pole that holds the reflector is carbon (the yellow stick in my case).
I purchased (1) 36 inch wooden dowel (1/4 inch thick).
Also required: Epoxy glue (damn I love this stuff)
Ping Pong balls (4)
One dimmer control knob (not required).
I then cut the dowel in half (making 2x 18 inch rods)
I slotted one dowel exactly in the center, this way the connecting rod can fit snugly, creating as little difference in height at the ends when you lay them flat.
I applied a little epoxy to hold them together.
I then took a dimmer switch knob that was laying on my workbench and put 4 grooves in it to hold the rods together.
I filled the dimmer switch with epoxy for extra strength
Finally, using a drill, or in my case, a reamer, you make holes to pass the rods through the pingpong balls, and apply glue on all 4 to hold them in place.
Ultimately, this setup will cost you around 7$ CDN.
Here's some pics, hope it helps.
