Default RE: jet pack project

Even with being a really big risk taker that I am racing streetluge and the riding the Jet Luge, I am scared for this guy.... Obviously you guys would look at the fly-ability of this craft..... and maybe, just maybe he has some tricks up his sleve (or in that backpack)Maybe he sacraficed a Segway into his craft . As an engineers I would have gone through a wash of the project with many critics trying to shoot holes in it.. (as I did on RCU), especially if test #1 was to be manned. I have some obvious concerns of safety. things that i spent some time in thought and designed for them. Here are the things I see right off... prototype or not.. flys or not.

1. FOD Protection???????????? For the engines.... and what if one engine frags???? will that cover-all suit save him?
2. Fire Detection, suppresion, and protection? Again... the suit.
3. Landing force....... with or with out a chute.... Just try to jump off a couple of steps with a 100+ lb back pack... anything other than a perfect landing with this package on his shoulders will surely crush his spine or legs.... I see no dampining or shock break. and I would hate to see him try to tuck and roll

I have more. but for now.. I will just pray for him, and wish him the best.

PS.. Anyone in the St Augustine FL area? I will be there 15 to 21 January... perhaps with the Jet Luge in tow..
