RE: E-FLIGHT BLADE CP
I've gotten several dozen flights out of mine so far. Yesterday I looped it for the first time. Today I was feeling brave so I climbed it up high and decided to roll it. Rolled right without a problem. However, when I rolled left, just as it went inverted and I gave negative collective pitch, I heard a loud sound (thought at first it was a boom strike) the rotor stopped and it fell from about 150 feet straight in.
Lots of broken parts, bent rotor shaft, etc. The boom was ok. As I was looking at it, I realized one blade grip had flipped over almost 180 degrees, such that the linkage was on the wrong side. None of the linkages in the head were broken or popped loose, so I can't figure out how this could possibly have happened. Also, I don't see any evidence of a boom strike. Could the combination of full left cyclic and full negative pitch have caused this to happen?
Also, is there somewhere that I can purchase a 'short kit', ie: no motors or electronics? Might be cheaper than buying all the parts I'll need to fix this.
I have to say this has been a blast to fly. One of the other guys at the field had a Shogun that looked impressive, I might decide to upgrade to a better copter now.
