I think even more must be cut away than in gjeffers photo. I've seen pictures where the entire bottom is cut out. It don't look bad and it's the best thing you can do to get your engine to run better. Get the hot air around it out and away. Open the cowl up. You won't be sorry,...or so I've heard.
