I would lean towards a profile plane. Get yourself an OMP Edge, Swany's Burrito or Mojo 60. The Kat's and Bad Boy are great planes but not as forgiving in my opinion. They are inexpensive and great to learn on. The Burrito is a kit, OMP has the Edge in ARF and a kit. There is a Mojo 40 coming in ARF. I'm not sure sure what the 40 size is like but the 60 size is very stable. The 60 size Mojo is a kit only. I suspect the 40 size Mojo is more like a Bad Boy or Kat. All these planes are easy to fly if you decrease the throws and land very slow. They are durable as well. If you to the "Profiles" section of the furums and do a search on any of these planes you find tons of info.
