turns out it was the bearing in the 2nd gear hub that collapsed/disintegrated... again. the hub is about to lose its pin for engaging 2nd too, and they arent cheap! bugger.

diffs are still fine - im impressed too, didnt expect this kind of life from em - hd crown and pinion gears on both, but even so...
