Default RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36

ORIGINAL:

Hi; here too eh?

Yup the blinking gyro usually means one of two things...

- Inability to stabilize the gyro to a reference
- No signal from the RX

In playing with this, with what I though was a defective Gyro that did the same, I found that once the gyro looses signal it will attempt to re-initialize.

If it's moving it cannot, so if the heli is flying, things do not go very well.

The only thing usually partially saving the heli from complete and utter annihilation at this point is that for a few seconds the motor keeps spinning.

The RX can "glitch" relatively briefly and cause loss of tail control.

USUALLY once the signal is reestablished things go back to normal.

Overheating, insufficient voltage, too much draw from a motor, etc. can all cause the RX to behave like this too.

If you have another pack, static test the heli with it fully charged, and see if you can eliminate the problem.

Thierry (remember him?) suggested even trying to wrap the RX in foil as an RF shield just in case. I didn't need to go so far though.
Gotta try everywhere and see what resolves it... Seems to be more info in here....

Ill try another pack tonight, Ive emailed the supplier (Ebay seller in China ) and they are going to go back to walkera and see what they think.
Im itching to get back out there however reluctant to get above a few feet as it might end up in a smoking pile on the ground.

I saw thierry's post, scarey however interesting..

Thanks for your patience
