Default RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36

Hi all
Like to say hello to all you #36 flyers and would like to say mine now works flawlessly !!!
Have had this heli for a month now. I'll tell you the problems I've had as it works well now.
* The "chinglish" manual...whats a "tyro" flyer?
* The battery, charger and wall plug that doesnt work
* The motor
* The slipping main shaft

Well heres what I did....
*Brought a Zoom 400 brushless outrunner with a 9 tooth gear, a 2000mah Li-po, 27A brushless controller, carbon blades.

Firslty get rid of that chunk of metal that is called a 380 motor and replace it with the outrunner, the cog will slide on tightly but a bit of locktite will keep it on. Then work the battery around untill you get it fitting. The Li-po I had fits nicely under the frount servos and just fits inside the nose cone whilst keeping the CG right. The motor wires from the reciever can be trimmed off at the reciever case as they are hopeless. Now after you fly the chopper with the brushless you might hear the motor scream whilst the blades are slowly spinning, you are not stripping the gears but the main drive gear (one on top) slips on the drive shaft...which is not good since this usually happens out off ground effect. To fix this use 2 zip ties or tie wire and tie it over the top gear and through the holes and over the bottom gear, do this on both sides so its in balance. If you use zip ties ensure the heads are on the bottom so it doesnt hit any of the servo rods. However by doing this it stops the main blade spinning freely which I think affects the autorotation, not to worry for me because I land long before the battery runs out of power. Now with the two control knobs, I find having them at the 3-4 o'clock position alows the motor to rev out and draw less current, my chopper hovers at 1/3 throttle for almost 30mins.
Hope this helps guys.
Hi Bodex,

what is the extra server at the front for?

Cheers
