I haven't run the O.S. RG in the Savage yet. It took a little Dremel work on the right chassis plate to make it fit. The 45wt oil that I put in seems like it's going to do well, though the rebound is slower. I still need stiffer springs. T-Maxx springs are a little too large in diameter. Next step is to convert the the red battery plug to a standard plug for nicad packs. Also I'm going to swap-out the switch for one with a charging jack. The electronics box is a pain to open and close. I don't want to have open it again, not even to charge or replace the batteries.
MORE REVIEW:
Lay-out:
The engine/tranny/body lay-out makes is difficult to put a nice air filter in. The K&N might fit, but a OEM O.S. Filter won't. I manage to fit a Kyosho filter with dirt guard on it. The inlet tube is under tension, but it'll stay on with a tie-wrap.
Hubs:
They are all the same. This is a sweet deal. If you break the ear off one of the hubs, you can still use the hub on the other side of the truck
Race Performance:
A guy at a local tack made the A-main in a regional event. His truck only had 1 tank through it before he started racing

!! The only change was tires. He was in about 3rd place before he overheated the engine, and it died on him with about 2 minutes left in a 10 minute main. One thing I did notice, is the extreme need for anti-sway bars for racing.
Serious Off-road performance:
Thick gas, no problem. Big ruts and rock, no problem. The truck had very good power, clearance, and suspension travel. This was with my buddy's truck.
