Sorry to bust you chops but the 805 is both faster and more powerful. I agree the 5745 is more accurate but that is where it ends.
Directly from Hitec's website catalog pdf:

HS-5745MG 249.6oz and .15 sec @60 degrees
HS-805BB 343.01oz and .14 sec @60 degrees

Both values at 6.0 volts.

My rc has nothing to do with being popular and my statements are based on the facts as I have interpreted them and my experiences in large scale. I assume due to your USA address when you say racing you are talking about on-road in which I agree the accuracy is more important than longevity and value.
