RE: U-Can-Do 3d 46?
Yes, Raid and Rob, it took me more than four hours--with the Katana V2. When I got to putting on the control horns, those small washers and nuts slowed me down some. Then, not noticing a difference between the left and right forward landing gear, I mounted them backward--AFTER I CAed them. My manual, from off line, does NOT mention the difference and I wasn't looking for it. Weird. I also REmounted the throttle servo, putting the mount UNDER the mounting brackets, so it would line up more accurately with the carb arm.
Funny, the pictures show Hangar 9 type control horns, but the model came with black, triangular feet, with tall threaded arms, useless for large throws--unless you turn them down to less than an eighth inch between the foot and the connector. I got her trimmed out though and ready to fly, but the weather was windy and snowy, low visibility, so I put off the maiden until tomorrow--I hope.
I didn't put skiis on the V2, thinking that I can take it off the road and plop it down in snow if I have to. I have a suspicion that bird will land at less than a mile an hour in any kind of wind. With that long wing chord, she ought to float easily. Am I right?
I can't believe the throws on the V2. I suspect it's the best bird to compete with the Twist I have. The Can Dos can become hangar queens, if that's so.
I'll let you know.
Fly well.
