If you are relatively close to the UPS/FedEx depot, then you can have the shipper mark the parcel "CLEARS OWN CUSTOMS" on the second address line and the shipping company will generate the paperwork and call you to get the paperwork from them. A trip to the depot gets you the paperwork and you go to Canada Customs office and clear the parcel yourself. Then you go back to the depot to claim your parcel. This results in only GST/PST charges in MB anyway. The ludicrous brokerage charge whose value is derived by spinning the 'wheel of charges' no longer applies. It involves some time and driving, but I find it is well worth the cost.
