I think people also argue whether those other planes you mentioned "should" have a 50cc on them. I agree if they can "handle" 50cc, so can this plane. But ideally I think you want something more in an 84"+ range for wing-loading reasons. Doesn't mean you won't like this plane w/ a 50cc. But remember the instruction manual shows a 1.20 on it [:'(] . I have a 1.60 on it but haven't flown yet.
