I've taken my cowl off, but had to remove the needle valve to do it. I'm going to cut mine on the bottom from the muffler opening back to the rear, so that I can get it on and off w/o messing w/ the needle. Also, I'll hog out the opening near the muffler pressure fitting so I can get to it for refueling.
