Ah diesels!
In the 60's I had a Rivers Silver Arrow (3.5 cc) 4 Oliver Tigers (used in combat control line) AM 2.5 (with a black cylinder) Super Merlin, and flew planes like the Keil Kraft Marquis stunt model, Firebird, and dozens (literally in the end!) of combat models designed by club members.
Neil Tidey (who now is the owner of Laser engines) was the best in our club at combat, and, among other club members, designed some of the most successful planes in combat. Razor Blade, Flingel Bunt come to mind, all using highly tuned Oliver Tigers.
