I have just got my brushlees motor and controller, and the installion instrution are useless, can any one help me. what I need to know is this, do you connect the battery to the controller or to the one on the chopper ?

Connect battery to controller. Controller then connects to motor and #3 socket on RX, assuming you are using stock transmitter. The controller regulates power to the rx and motor.
