I use to be a chicken stick user. Made it myself, too... who would
buy a chicken stick!
But after a while, I became a practitioner of the "backwards snap twist" on the spinner or prop nut. If it won't start that way, it gets the electric starter. The only time I've been cut is while turning a big four-stroke to prime it and accidentally ran a finger down the knife err... I mean APC prop.
