When the people at CMDi Racing sharpen and balance props, they leave the face of the prop slightly rough with scratch marks from their linisher but can be done with a file also. Andy Brown claims that the rough suface helps to aerate the prop enough to prevent stiction. I hqad them do up 4 props last winter for my boats and once I saw how they appeared I found out that I could somewhat copy their style with a file.
A linisher is an old-school machine and I never saw one until I was watching one of those Chopper shows where they were custom making a sissy bar.
