RE: 60 size pattern plane?
Just a personal recommendation. I've learned over the years that you are MUCH better off, just pick one plane and fly it. If you fly a smaller plane and then a larger one they will fly so much different that in some cases you can hurt your flying. You are ahead to just find one plane, and fly it, and become as good as you can with that one plane. It's nice to have other planes to play around with, but for pattern, find your primary plane stick with it.
I know of one flyer in particular that had flown one smaller plane all year, and that the last contest of the year, had his new larger plane ready with only a couple of flights on it. Even though the larger plane probably flew better, he was so much more comfortable with the smaller plane that it actually hurt his flying by flying the larger plane.
