RE: GP Easy Sport or SIG 4 Star for first Low wing ?
Kemy,
Are you looking for a kit or ARF? If its a kit, there are two great designs that have almost been forgotten with time but are still available. Depending on what you're looking for, the Sig Kavalier is a mid-wing that will slow down as slow as any basic trainer, is very gentle to fly on low rates and will be a great aerobatic trainer. For a low-wing, the Sig Kougar is an awsome low-wing trainer with a reputation that arrives a week before it does. Both will be great on a .46 and have been around since the '70's. I'm seriously thinking about building another Kougar as a new home for my OS .46 AX in a couple of months. I've had both birds and can attest to how well they fly.
If you want to go to a .61 size, then look at the Sig AstroHog. Like the saying goes, nothing fly's like a Hog. I've had the Sig Hog which needs just a plain sport .61 (a hot .61 is almost too much power) and several of the original version (sorry, no kit, scratch built off the original 1958 M.A.N. plans). The Hog will fly on the .46, but it'll be marginal and way underpowered for todays aerobatics. A .52 will do OK, but a mild .61 is best.
If you looking for an ARF, then sorry, I'm a builder who prefers a good kit or scratch built. Don't know much about what's good in ARF's.
