I had no problem with it, but the cheapo Zebco DeLiar fishing scale don't cut it, wildly inaccurate. I got a $30 digital one from Gander Mountain, works just fine. Batteries run out really fast, takes an odd battery, otherwise, it works fine, even with tiny Kamdax ICDF units measuring only 14 ounces of thrust. I used ball bearing drawer slides, though.
