Fastsky`s right in what he says about the 4*`s landing speed. While the 4*s are without question RC classics, aside from providing low wing tail dragger experience, I question their value in preparing one to fly more demanding models. My Avistar lands "hotter" and with a more deliberate sink rate ( like a sport scale warbird, for example ) than my 4* ever did.
