RE: Sig Hog Bipe Build
ah, you noticed. saito-91 is mounted much lower, in a cowel that is made up of 1/4 x 1/2 balsa strips, laid on end and sanded to shape, with a "little" elmer's wood putty to fill in the gaps. the nose can stand the weight. i also raised the turtle deck fore and aft of the cockpit to resemble one of curtiss's last generation 'HAWK' biplanes. check out his late 20's schnider (?) cup float planes.
this post includes the hog's big brother, a fun fly foker d-7 look alike scratch built by taking the hog plans and blowing them up 20% and changing the tail feathers to look like a d-7. with an O.S. 120 pumper, this thing is a gas hog, but fun to fly, even though it came out a bit heavy. mike
