I got a Seagull PC 9 kit in December and wrote how impressed I was with the construction. After hitting a tree, I took the covering off the wing and was even more impressed with the quality. As I wanted to fly as quickly as possible, I ordered a new wing kit for it while I would be rebuilding the old. What a difference. The covering is all wrinkled, The left aileron is 1/8 inch shorter than the right, and the wing mount holes are located 1/2 of a hole off. THe original wing had the ailerons installed with dubro heavy duty hinges with locked hing pins and were staked in from the bottom. the new ones had the cheap paper CA hinges, and when I pulled on them they came off. Where the stripes meet at the leading edge, is off about 1/4 of an inch. I'm not complaining as it still only cost $40.00. It will just take me 2 days to get it done instead of 1. As far as the covering goes, I'm more a dope and fabric guy and probably couldn't put it on much better, but I'm not doing it every day.
I can see now how some people swear buy certain manufacturers as the best, while others curse the same ones! I just wish the same guy that built my 1st one did my replacement. It must have been a Friday afternoon wing!
