Default walbro cleaning, paint thinner ,poliuretanic thinner is sure?

Hello
I have a walbro carb from a weedeater featherlite clogged with dirt, hairs, rubberish deposits on the inner filter, small circular screen inside.
If I remove all covers and needle valve , can I flush with thinners ?
Is sure? Or it have other rubber parts inside I can damage.
In my country I have no many options.
I know the circular screen can be removed and changed but I have no spare parts.
In the needle valve side have a metal plate with 2 philips screws, can I remove it? It help ?, one screw have the screwdriver seat broken.
This carb is installed in a reconditioned unit, but work 4 year without problems.
Many thanks for your time
Jose
