I too have those tabs on the W-1 ribs. They are jig stand tabs for when building the top of the wing and are sanded off prior to sheeting (step 4 on page 15).

Like badger said, make sure you do NOT glue the top spar until you turn the wing over and finish the top.

Also, thanks for the assist guys with my spar issue. Will post pics when I get the ribs glued in.
