If you take off the Tower "TUNED" muffler and put a regular muffler on the engine, most of your problems will go away. I liked the MACS "One Piece"

That is actually a reasonable solution & the engine has sufficient power that the loss, resulting from the backpressure of the regular muffler, will not be crippling. The Tower muffler can be saved for something like a TT 46 Pro, or OS 46 AX -- both of which respond impressively to that tuned muffler.

You can also try stuffing some coarse steel wool in the Tower muffler (downstream of the pressure nipple) -- that works too.
