Default FF one way diff

Hello Group,
Has anyone else tried using the one way diff on their Fun Factor? I installed one in the front diff of my MT2. My understanding of this part is that it would still transfer power to the front wheels, but that braking would only be accomplished by the rear wheels.

The diff comes with two pairs of a different style of diff cup, that simply slip into the diff, but have round shafts, instead of having flat spots on them to engage the gears inside the diff. What I am seeing is that no power OR braking is being transferred to the front wheels, effectively rendering my FF rear wheel drive only, instead of AWD.

If all this part does is make the truck 2WD, what use is it? You could simply remove the center drive shaft, and accomplish the same thing, without buying this rather expensive "hop-up" and tearing apart the front diff to install it.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, and that is causing my difficulties?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ken
