Default RE: Hanger 9 Alitalia 80" Cap 232

I just finished and started flying one of these. This is my second one and I am flying IMAC with it in the basic class this year. I am running a DA 50 but I wont bore you with that. I ran a fuji 64 on my first on which is comparable to the 62. It flew very well and had plenty of power with that engine. I ran a NX 23x8 ont it. It will be just a little more snappy deep into the stall with the extra weight but its not dramatic and can be countered with the ailerons. I would also consider using your G45 as this plane loves to be light and the 45 should have the power for the basic and sportsman classes. The difference in flight characteristics between my 2 are unbelievable. Its a much nicer airframe lighter. The elevator flies like its 2 inches behind the wing, in other words its big but its very sensitive. I run 9 or 10 degrees on low rates and it will still stall the tail if I hold long enough. I would run the expo (75%) that the manual calls for on high rates. I am using Hitec 5645's but you could easily use 645's or JR's new 125's. Don't worry about the landing gear mount, I pranged alot of landings with the first one with bent gear and no problems. I pranged a few with the new one to with no problems either. Things I would think about are: Be very careful when you cut the canopy out, these were built 5 years ago and are a little brittle, I destroyed the second one and am looking for a replacement. Also tristock and zip tie you rudder tray both of mine have popped off with various glues used. I will include some pics to show what I mean. Check the elevator hinging, on both of mine one side was hinged 1/16 higher than the other. Plan on using a point mix for the roll coupling, it couples alot (alot) but once mixed out I can do knifeedge waterfalls. All in all this is a really fun airplane. 1 thing it really excells at is tumbling manuevers. It lomcevacs pretty good (around the spinner)and as close to scale as I have ever seen. Anyways I hope this helps.
