RE: Hanger 9 Alitalia 80" Cap 232
I do appreciate you comments about the plane.
But, I think your wrong about the engine making theplane too heavy for 3D.
I have another plane with only 1175sq.in. and 80" span. It has a lightened G-62 on the firewall and it weighs 15.5 pounds. It will do it all. Harriers, spins, hover, knife edge, waterfalls--and excellent at sequence flying as well.
The Cap has 1248sq.in. of wing and 80" span. If it weighs 15--16 pounds, it should fly very close to my other plane, and I am extremely happy with that.
There's just too much hype and myth about Zenoah engines being too heavy and underpowered. I happen to really like and respect the power the Zenoahs put out. I think that most of the guys who are slamming the Zenoah engines--have never actually had one. They just read all the bad press and repeat it without ever actually having one.
I'll take pictures of it with the G-62 and we'll see how well it does.[sm=thumbup.gif] I'll be honest. If it flies like a turd--I'll tell you. I'm not too proud to admit a dumb thumb or admit it when a plane is overloaded.
