BME 50 Lack of spark?
I was flying my BME 50/H9 260 today and just after I started it up for a last flight it quit. I noticed that the ground strap/wire to the spark plug boot was broken so I packed it in and went home.
I fixed the wire and I still don't seem to have spark.
I took the plug out and grounded it to the engine cyl. and spun the prop with an electric starter to get some rpms going to check for spark and nothing?
My question is: Is there a way to check out the ign. box? I know the battery is charged and all the wires/connectors seem OK.
Is it possible I burned it up when the ground wire broke to the plug cap?
If I did mess up the ignition box are others from other manf. the same and interchangeable or are there different timing curves etc.?
Would going to a different manf. ignition box maybe improve performance or reliability?
Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated.
