How many people do we see here spend weeks and months breaking in their engines too make sure everything is right. If they don't know how to tune an engine, whats the point?
I'm sure I don't know what you are talking about. I've never heard of this being done. An engine that has problems just might require a little more ground running before being mounted on a model. Without the pressure to "get it in the air", there is ample opportunity to get it tuned properly. If it gets broken in during the learning phase, that's just a bonus.
