Default FM vs PCM?

khlash99
i hadn't seen that particular link before fairly good article but the guy has one piont backwards pcm will read a signal thru noise where a ppm will get gitery.the easyest way to think about it would be the way we use radio signals on ham radio we can transmitt vioce on am,fm,ssb but if you transmitt on cw(telegraph key)on a digital mode like rtty or packett the message will get thru interference another good resone nobody flying toc the superman jet rally or the reno races are useing anything but pcm.
reminds me one time we had a guy show up at our field with a am
in a plane range check good everything looked fine.i took a long screw driver and scratched on the metal door of my step van you should have seen that airplane go wild. now for the real test took one of my ham radios dialed up to 72mhz on the channel i fly on with my copter 15 feet from my truck transmitter putting out 50
watts on fm thats 491/2 more then my futaba my pcm was still operating properly no glitches or loss of control the digital encoding has an advantage.
