Engine Break-in
Hello again everybody, Today I'm seeking professional advice on engine break-in. I have a hobbystar /superstar trainer with an O.S. LA 40 engine. I ran 1 full tank of Omega 15% fuel through at full throttle and needle settings as described per O.S. manual No Problems, I'm just a little fuzzy on where the manfg. suggests to start leaning on the 2nd tank with the needle valve after each flight, but I'll be doing this from the ground not flying, (not trained Yet) should I just tweak a little leaner about every 5 minutes or so? and approx. how many tanks before break-in is complete? I have nitro experience with monster trucks, but this is my first airplane engine p.s. if your asking yourself why is this guy breaking in the engine on the ground and not flying it's because I spoke to someone from a club I plan to join and he suggested I have the engine broke in before showing up at the field.
