As I remember the elevator is one piece. Doesn't have a joiner. You cut the tail apart and there is a pre-drilled hole the the elevator goes through and you glue the part you cut out back in. Pretty slick. And you save the weight and cost of one servo. I use a Hitec HS5645 on the elevator and I haven't had a bit of problems. I really can't tell any difference than say the Funtana, UCD, Showtime, Yak, all of which have two elevator halves. It seems to have just as much athority and I don't notice any deflection.
