Hi guys
I'm the friend Tom is talking about and the GeeBee in the pics is mine.
Where do I start... what a great plane it is I have been flying it about 18+ months now with no real problems. It is powered by a tuned by west magnum 120. All I can say is rocket propelled trashcan

The only problem in the build was the belly pan was not a very good fit. I am using Hitec HB325 servos all round. For the throttle I have installed a servo inside the cowel on the firewall, which even though is soaked in oil works fine.
It flys like a dream and I didn't have to add any ballast at all. the CG is as per instructions, it does anything you ask of it and knife edges forever. The only problems I have had is when landing on long grass I have had 2 problems, the first is the screws that hold the wheel pants on started to come loose so I put longer ones in which sorted it. The other is the wheel pants have started to crack on the front join at the bottom so I would advise putting some glass cloth to strengthen the area.
On a final note you CANNOT land this plane slowly. The best way to describe how to land is to bring it in as though your going to carry out a touch and go but don't go just let it run out.
