it is the low speed idle screw that sc--ws ya as far as fuel consumption Barry, i dont squeez my line(although it is close) but i do my carb like i do my rockchesters and other old carbs, after the engine is brok in i just take the idle screw down till it dies(or almost, whichever comes first) and then bring the screw back out just a little till it starts to idle a little rough and then go in a hair and im there, idleing smoooooth

then set the top end and your good to go,jmo[8D]
